After decades of hope, hard work and savings, Victoria’s francophone community has realized its dream: a francophone community center. Much more than just a building, the Maison de la francophonie symbolizes the vitality and resilience of francophone culture in Victoria. This new space offers a multitude of services and activities to enrich the cultural, social and educational life of francophones. Language courses, workshops, cultural events and programs for seniors are just a few examples of what this dynamic center has to offer

The Victoria Francophone Society

The Victoria Francophone Society is at the heart of the francophone community. It offers a variety of cultural, and social activities and events to gather, represent and defend the francophone community, all while promoting French language and culture. Thanks to its initiatives, the Society reinforces community relationships and supports French speakers of all ages. 

Radio Victoria

In broadcast for more than 15 years at 107.9 FM, Radio Victoria is the only Francophone community radio station of British Columbia. Radio Victoria broadcasts a varied program, having local news, cultural shows, interviews and francophone music. Radio Victoria offers a space to share, inform and celebrate francophone cultural diversity. 

Alliance Française

L’Alliance française de Victoria is the largest French language school, with more than 6,000 students each year. It offers French courses for all levels, as well as cultural events, such as film projections, expositions and conferences. Alliance Française encourages cultural and linguistic exchanges between francophones and francophiles as well.

The Educacentre College

The Educacentre College is the only francophone college in British Columbia. It offers a variety of educative programs and professional training in French, from language courses to diploma programs. The Educacentre College plays a crucial role in education and professional development of French speakers in the region. 

Carrefour 50+

Le Carrefour 50+ is an organization dedicated to francophones of 50 +. It offers social, cultural and educative activities, aiming to promote the well-being and inclusion of senior francophones. Thanks to its programs, the Carrefour 50+ contributes to maintaining an active and enriching life for its members. 
  Victoria’s French-speaking community now owns the Maison de la Francophonie in Victoria, a dream it has been hoping for for so many years. It’s a gathering place where bonds are forged and strengthened, where the French language is celebrated and passed on to future generations. It’s a place where everyone can feel at home, surrounded by people who share the same values and passion for Francophone culture.
