Dominique is the Editor in Chief of our monthly publication. Since the summer of 2016, Dominique has revised, edited, and assembled articles from our community writers. Her responsibilities range from uploading the magazine to communicating with the printer for distribution.

Since his arrival in Victoria in 1996, Jacques has been involved with several organizations: the Francophone History Association of Victoria, the Francophone Society of Victoria, the community radio station Radio Victoria, as well as Victoria’s Alliance Française. With a Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of Toronto, this is Jacques’ one hundredth article on the subject in the Réverbère!

She is particularly interested in the area of natural beauty and participates in plenty of workshops to present recipes for home-made care products. “Foods that beautify” shares knowledge gathered over the course of many years, and these beauty secrets are regularly presented in the columns of Le Réverbère.

Pierre Chauvin
Pierre Chauvin is the general director of Radio Victoria. Journalist by training, Pierre has worked at several newspapers across the country, such as the Yukon’s francophone community newspaper, “l’Aurore boréale”. The Radio Victoria bulletins announce the new programs at the station, events, and the latest music releases.

Claire Carlin has been the president of the Francophone Historic Association of Victoria since 2019. She has worked in the francophone community since her retirement in 2015, after her career as a professor of literature spanning 30 years (26 of which were spent at UVic). In contributions to Le Réverbère by Claire and by their other members, the Francophone History Association of Victoria wishes to promote an understanding of history as lively and pertinent to the francophonie in Victoria.

Having been a French teacher in Toronto for about twenty years, Normand now contributes to the Radio Victoria program “Paysages littéraires” and also publishes articles in the magazine “l’Entre’aînés” and “l’Express du pacifique”.

Gisèle Samson
Having arrived in Victoria in June 1996, Gisèle has worked for the Francophone School Board for 14 years. Involved as a volunteer with the Society, with the Réseau-Femmes Victoria, with Radio-Victoria, as well as with the Francophone History Society of Victoria, Gisèle writes a column called “For the joy … of relating facts, of remembering songs, of bringing up history.”

Marie-Hélène Bourret has been involved in several francophone community organizations since she arrived in Victoria in 2013. During her time as director of the Francophone History Association of Victoria, she has written many articles in the Réverbère on a variety of topics.
